Job Description
The core duty of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide superior patient care and guarantee positive patient outcomes through the empathetic and efficient use of nursing expertise. Operating under basic supervision, this role advances professional nursing standards by organizing patient care using the nursing process and teamwork with different professionals.
Essential Job Function:
- Evaluates the needs and conditions of patients within a designated unit to provide nursing care that is direct and specific to the individualized requirements of each patient.
- Analyzes patient records, which may include medical history, diagnostic results, and current health condition, to develop individualized nursing care strategies.
- Executes nursing duties, including medication administration and therapy delivery, to deliver comprehensive and impactful patient treatment.
- Ensures the accuracy and compliance of medical documents with regulatory requirements and organizational policies through reconciliation processes.
- Assesses how the patient is responding to interventions and recognizes the requirement for additional measures to attain the established care objectives.
- Collaborates with professionals from different disciplines to develop tailored care plans.
- Executes miscellaneous responsibilities as required.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
