Job Description

The Clinical Informatics Specialist 1 at the entry level will enhance skills to organize, merge, and evaluate clinical procedures throughout Health System using clinical information technology, process creation, and proof to boost patient care, quality, and financial objectives. They will cooperate on enhancing technology to upgrade Health Systems patients, providers, and team members' care and satisfaction. This role is involved in national guidelines, expert fields, and supplier discussions. The main emphasis will be on hospital workflows and EPIC features. The job requires the capacity to work in a HYBRID setting, with one to two weeks in person every month.

Essential Job Function:

  • Supports the tasks associated with the advancement and management of information technology as a solitary participant for a particular division or function.
  • - Assisting in the implementation of EMRs and fostering connections with both internal and external healthcare providers to encourage the acceptance of technology and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Ensures that IT systems are created to align with clinical objectives focused on delivering reliable care and a smooth experience for both patients and healthcare providers.
  • Collaborates in clinical and operational enhancement groups to create and enhance clinical plans, needs, and processes.
  • Engages in the process of documenting designs, requirements, and workflows and then converting them into specifications for the IT team.
  • Assists in obtaining stakeholder and governance endorsement for these designs within the SL or department.
  • Engages proactively in safety campaigns and enforces strategies to reduce risks, guaranteeing adherence to all relevant job standards.
  • Assists in developing and sustaining knowledge base articles and technical or procedural documentation when necessary.
  • Acts as a bridge connecting healthcare system professionals, medical practitioners, and IT management.
  • Collaborates with various departments within the company to guarantee excellence, drive and execute modifications, and promote the enhancement of technical capabilities.
  • Could participate in creating and presenting educational material and training sessions for both in-house and external medical professionals, as well as support personnel, and colleagues. Other tasks may also be required as delegated.

Education:

  • Required: A minimum of a Bachelor degree including but not limited to nurse, therapist, health administration, public health, social services. Clinical training and licensure as appropriate to clinical background and state requirements

Experience

  • Required: One year of experience in clinical informatics and Epic Clinical Applications One year of experience in a complex healthcare setting Aware of and developing in their knowledge and experience of relevant regulatory requirements, such as HITECH, HIPAA Privacy & Security and other CMS regulations and guidelines. In-depth knowledge of clinical practice, health care administration; patient safety; information and clinical management. Developing in skills required to support the build and management of data systems and the ability to analyze complex data sets to address clinical, operational, and personnel management issues Developing in change management, project management skills, including financial and budget management, scheduling and resource management. Experience in one or more area of quality improvement and IT methodologies. Agile, LEAN, product, Agil, ITIL

Licensure/Certification/Listing

  • Required: Licensure in the state if required by the state board. Some manner of Quality, safety or process improvement certification (examples: Agile, LEAN) or similar comparable experience. Preferred: Board certification or degree in Clinical Informatics certification or degree. If a physician, a board certification from a specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association. Epic certificationsClinical Advanced Certification (RN, PharmD, etc.)
