Overview:
In conjunction with the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician is responsible for noting and documenting patient conditions. Working closely with supervision, this role supports patients in improving their mobility and assisting with daily activities as needed.
Responsibilities:
Supports patients in daily tasks like meal assistance, personal hygiene, and progressive movement to aid in their recovery and care blueprint.
Assesses the well-being of individuals concerning their nutritional status, hydration levels, and excretory habits to provide resources accordingly and predict patient needs.
Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients to ensure they are moved to the correct locations in accordance with the care plan.
Assists in clinical responsibilities, including monitoring blood sugar levels, recording vital signs, conducting EKG procedures, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs to ensure patients receive thorough and considerate care.
Helps in the upkeep of unit supplies and medical tools stock to secure a healthy and safe space as per the National Patient Safety Goals.
Confirms the availability of proper armbands, socks, and indicators for patients prone to falling to ensure their physical security.
Helps in recording each medical protocol, patient interactions, and pharmaceutical administration to maintain an intricate patient history.
Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and shares patient observations to ensure efficient collaboration.
Takes on extra duties as needed.

Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
