Philanthropy Specialist, Stewardship

The Philanthropy Specialist – Stewardship manages programs with a focus on key donor interactions, including communications and recognition, while serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and external vendors for art-related fundraising initiatives.

Essential Job Function

• The Specialist oversees stewardship operations, ensuring donor-facing activities are executed thoughtfully, promptly, and accurately, reinforcing Cone Health’s culture of gratitude and fostering long-term philanthropic relationships.
• Supports the development and implementation of strategic stewardship plans that enhance donor engagement, elevate recognition experiences, and align stewardship practices with the organization s philanthropic priorities.
• Acts as the primary liaison between internal partners—such as fundraisers, departmental leaders, finance, and clinical teams—and external collaborators, including artists, designers, and fabrication vendors, to ensure smooth planning and installation of donor-funded art, recognition displays, and commemorative elements.
• Oversees the end to end production and quality control of donor communications, including the preparation, generation, and distribution of donor tax letters, birthday cards, personalized acknowledgments, and year end giving statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Oversees the complete process for donor recognition plaques and signage at all locations, including content review, approvals, production, and installation, ensuring professional, donor-focused presentation and consistent standards.
• Coordinates meaningful donor gifts and recognition experiences that appropriately reflect donor impact, exercising sound judgment in selection, ordering, and delivery logistics.
• Organizes and supports small-scale donor engagement activities, such as celebrations, recognition moments, and intimate gatherings, ensuring each event is purposeful, well-executed, and aligned with donor interests.
• Maintains organized stewardship systems, workflows, and documentation, ensuring accurate tracking, cross team visibility, and consistent execution of all donor facing activities.
• Delivers regular updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, including reports on stewardship activities, operational requirements, donor engagement results, and potential opportunities to improve the donor experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: Bachelor s Degree

Experience

• Required: 3 Years of Philanthropy experience.

• Preferred: Experience with Salesforce, Workday, and Microsoft Excel.
