Job Description

GNA is on the lookout for a talented and compassionate Neurologist to complement its experienced and high-functioning Neurology group, which boasts a solid referral foundation and supplementary services. Situated in Greensboro, N.C., GNA is a modern and comprehensive single-specialty practice comprising nine Neurologists affiliated with Cone Health Medical Group.

  • Operating entirely in an outpatient capacity with no inpatient responsibilities, scheduled for 4.5 days a week
  • Wide range of patients in need of general and subspecialty neurology care are referred to the practice

At GNA, patients can access a wide range of services that include an in-house electrodiagnostic lab for carrying out EEG, EMG/nerve conduction studies, and interpreting images like MRI, MRA, along with evoked potentials such as VER, BAER, SEP. Additionally, they offer services in procedures like transcranial doppler, carotid duplex imaging, BOTOX injection therapy, Baclofen pump refills, and management of various neurological conditions.

Essential Job Function:

  • Engages in learning and development by using literary resources and engaging in regional and national conferences to ensure ongoing professional competence.
  • Takes part in educational activities designed for inpatient, staff, and professional enhancement.
  • Takes part in educational and research activities which involve didactic materials, structured teaching sessions, teaching within clinical environments, educating staff members, and conducting clinical investigations.
  • Collaboration: Participates in coordinating efforts with other staff members and establishing relationships for patient referrals.
  • Ensures referring physicians are kept up-to-date on patient care and results.
  • Delivers patient care, both directly and indirectly, in assigned locations.
  • Supervises the interdisciplinary team medically and provides guidance to residents and medical students in executing their assigned tasks thoroughly.
  • Enrolls in research initiatives within the medical field.
  • Delivering accurate and timely documentation and endorsement of care to establish updated medical records for billing use.

Education:

  • Required: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.
  • Also, medical degrees from other countries that are equivalent to the United States MD or DO degrees from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.

Experience:

  • Required: Completed appropriate residency training (and fellowship training as required).

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

  • Required: Practitioner must have completed the number of years in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and met all other requirements for eligibility to receive board certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in the primary medical specialty (or subspecialty) for which the Practitioner is applying for Clinical Privileges.
  • If five (5) or more years have elapsed since the Practitioner completed such residency program, the Practitioner currently must have board-certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in such specialty (or subspecialty).
  • Fully licensed to practice Medicine in the state of NC.
  • Meets requirements of the Cone Health Medical Staff by-laws and obtains the appropriate level of medical staff privileges. The Practitioner must have a current, and valid DEA registration number, with no involuntary limitations on prescriptive authority (schedule limitations) resulting from DEA disciplinary actions.
  • Cone Health shall obtain and maintain in force professional liability insurance through commercial coverage or a program of self-insurance insuring MCAP and Physician for professional errors, omissions, negligence, incompetence, and malfeasance.
