Job Description
The Clinical Pharmacist II - Investigational Drug Service routinely performs clinical support in addition to preparing and dispensing prescribed medications to patients in the acute care setting. This role is accountable for the maintenance of all aspects of medication administration including efficiency and effectiveness of medication therapeutics and dispensing, evaluation of appropriateness of drug utilization, nursing support for patient and staff education, and supervision of pharmacy technicians.
Essential Job Function
- Interprets and abides by medical practitioner guidance to ensure precise care is delivered to the designated individual.
- Monitors and authenticates the prescription order entry process, packaging procedures, and dispensing activities.
- Offers and oversees pharmacy-created protocols, drug usage, and medication-linked data for healthcare experts, individuals, as well as the wider society.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians.
- Precepts students.
- Engages with healthcare teams, including physicians and nurses, to maximize medication therapy outcomes and maintain patient safety.
Education
- Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or BSPharm
Experience
- Required: 3 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Pharmacist in NC within 60 days of hireBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
