Job Description
Cone Health is looking for a dynamic director to spearhead an interdisciplinary specialty pharmacy program. The director will be tasked with ensuring the development and continuity of specialty pharmacy services to deliver top-notch healthcare experiences to patients, healthcare providers, and the community.
Essential Job Function:
- Collaboration with service providers and patients is essential for the establishment, maintenance, and oversight of specialty pharmacy services within the entire health system.
- Establish and administer a strategic plan for essential pharmacy services, encompassing the growth of specialty pharmacy, enhancement of home delivery systems, and advancement of clinical offerings. Define the budgetary needs and rationalize the allocation of resources, including capital equipment and skilled personnel, essential for meeting set targets in the designated areas.
- Provide guidance on the adoption and execution of technology essential for supporting specialty pharmacy distribution and home delivery services.
- Create and execute specific marketing campaigns aimed at raising awareness and facilitating the utilization of Cone Health specialty pharmacy services among patients, physicians, employer groups, and related stakeholders.
- Formulate, apply, and communicate quality, safety, financial, and customer service indicators within the specified scope of duties.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, national, and best-practice criteria in specific domains by regularly evaluating and refining processes.
- Create presentations about drug therapy and clinical pharmacy programs for dissemination to pharmacy staff, nurses, physicians, medical professionals, administrative boards, and other relevant parties.
- Engage with health plans, insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, employers, government entities, and other outside programs to organize specialty pharmacy services and disease management offerings effectively.
- Encourage and promote a corporate culture that prioritizes building strong partnerships with employees who rank in the highest performance tier.
- Take charge in cultivating and supervising a group of talented and loyal personnel to demonstrate exceptional achievement and adhere to the iCARE criteria and fundamentals, encompassing effective communication, answerability, esteem, and authorization.
Education:
- Required: BS Pharmacy or PharmD
- Preferred: Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Administration, Master of Business Administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership.
Experience:
- Required: 5 years in Specialty Pharmacy with 3 years supervisory experience
- Preferred: PGY1 and PGY2 ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Residencies or equivalent work experience. Experience with budget, financial management, and staffing methodologies. Experience with implementing improvement processes, preferred lean methodologies.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina, or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within two months of hire.
