Job Description
The Manager of Medical Education is involved in enforcing and overseeing all facets related to the management and administration of the medical education program. This role involves organizing, executing, and supervising academic, operational, and financial operations in the medical education program to establish a superior clinical learning atmosphere.
Essential Job Function
- Assists the program director in ensuring program accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is upheld and in managing data entries in the Accreditation Data System.
- Responsible for handling regulatory functions, which encompass accreditation, board-mandated criteria, and the acquisition of medical licensure.
- Handles the recruitment process for the residency program, which involves supervising the Electronic Residency Application System for prospective candidates, assessing applicants, organizing and submitting lists of preferences, completing and submitting paperwork for new hires, and coordinating departmental orientation programs.
- Establishes guidelines and procedures for residency and fellowship programs as outlined by the ACGME, collaborating with program leaders and the GME Office to guarantee conformity.
- Supervises the program's budget, overseeing the management of faculty and trainee travel costs and ensuring that expenditures remain within or below budget limits.
- Involves responsibilities like evaluating workflow efficiency, prioritizing assignments, coordinating project timelines, compiling reports, maintaining data records, supervising coordinators, and managing program communications both inside and outside the organization.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
Experience
- Required: 3 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: C-TAGME Certification required or obtained within one year of eligibility.
