Job Description
The primary duty of a Nursing Technician is to assist the Registered Nurse in monitoring and documenting patient conditions. This position revolves around providing aid to patients with their daily routines and promoting progressive mobility, with oversight from supervisors. *Qualified individuals with a background in the ED are encouraged to apply to our current positions within the MedCenters
Essential Job Function:
- Supports individuals in tasks related to daily living, such as meal aid, personal grooming, and enhancing movement capabilities, to assist in their recovery and treatment schedule.
- Assessing patients' quality of life regarding nutrition, hydration, and elimination helps in allocating resources appropriately and anticipating patient needs.
- Oversees patient admittance, relocation, and release procedures to align with the planned course of action.
- Assists in clinical duties, including monitoring blood sugar levels, documenting vital signs, administering EKG tests, applying restraints, and helping with elimination needs to provide patients with the necessary care and comfort.
- Supporting the upkeep of unit inventories for supplies and medical equipment is vital for creating a clean and secure atmosphere that aligns with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Checks to see if patients who are prone to falling are provided with the right arm bands, socks, and markers to maintain their physical safety.
- Facilitates the documentation of each clinical practice, patient engagement, and drug utilization to preserve an elaborate patient history.
- Actively engages with delegated tasks from registered nurses and conveys pertinent patient observations to enhance collaborative efforts.
- Executes tasks as directed by superiors.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
