Overview:
The Nurse Technician Plus 3 - Phlebotomy II at the Alamance Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Registered Nurse by carefully monitoring and recording patient statuses. Under strict supervision, this position assists in patient care by promoting gradual mobility and providing help with daily activities when required. One of the key responsibilities is to gather top-notch blood samples with minimal risk of contamination.
Responsibilities:
Patients receive assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation, grooming, and improving their movement capabilities to aid in their healing process and treatment strategy.
Evaluates the well-being of individuals concerning their nutrition, water intake, and waste removal to allocate appropriate support and forecast their requirements.
Acknowledges, relocates, and releases patients to ensure they are transferred to suitable destinations following the care plan.
Offers support with patient's excretory requirements, such as ostomy management, bowel cleansing, and urinary catheter application, to ensure their comfort during treatment.
Assisting in the management of unit stock to guarantee a hygienic and secure setting, following the guidelines set by the National Patient Safety Goals.
Verifies that patients at risk of falling are equipped with suitable wristbands, socks, and signs to promote their physical well-being.
Gathers top-notch blood samples following Infection Control protocols to provide medical data and impact treatment.
Carries out additional responsibilities as requested.

Required:
Currently listed and in good standing as a Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services; Phlebotomy licensure from one of the three agencies required after 18 months of employment at Cone Health as a phlebotomist. [ASCP, ASPT, or NHA]
Preferred:
Phlebotomy licensure eligible upon hire.
