Overview:
As a Nursing Technician - Nursing Secretary, your primary role is to offer administrative assistance to the nursing unit and work with the Registered Nurse to provide necessary care for patients. This includes tasks such as responding to patient needs, communication with healthcare staff, and performing clerical duties.
Responsibilities:
Patients receive essential care support such as bathing, shaving, and monitoring vital signs to aid in their recuperation and enhance their mobility.
Patients are provided with nourishing meals and appropriate supplements while the healthcare provider keeps a close eye on any significant changes in their condition.
Assisting in the admission, transfer, and release of patients to ensure efficient service and bed availability.
Assists the Registered Nurse in catering to the needs of acutely ill patients in various departments through periodic check-ins and prompt response to their concerns.
Supervises the stock of supplies, machinery, and tools, and initiates ordering of additional resources to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
Accurate record keeping of charges and accommodation codes is vital for the effective functioning of the hospital.
Watches over apparatus and informs staff of required maintenance and repairs to ensure efficient functioning and prevent harm to patients.
Assists in basic reception tasks such as receiving phone calls and welcoming visitors as a way to assist clients and customers.
Executes additional tasks as designated.

Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR.
