Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) holds the primary role in delivering superior patient care and achieving positive patient outcomes through the compassionate and efficient application of nursing knowledge. Operating under general supervision, this role advances professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and assesses patient needs and medical conditions within the allocated unit to deliver nursing care that is specific to each patient.
- Evaluates patient information, including medical background, test results, and current state, to formulate tailored nursing care plans.
- Executes nursing strategies such as medication dispersion and therapies to provide thorough and efficient patient care.
- Checks the accuracy and conformity with regulatory standards and internal policies in medical records through a thorough reconciliation process.
- Assessing patient responsiveness to interventions and determining additional measures necessary to reach defined care objectives.
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to guarantee effective care planning.
- Carries out additional tasks as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse
Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
