Overview:
The incumbent must be competent in analyzing needs, developing blueprints, executing plans, tracking details, streamlining tasks, assigning responsibilities, overseeing, and aligning the healthcare delivery to neonatal, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric patients, and be aware of regulations specified in the NC Nurse Practice Act
Responsibilities:
Patient care is delivered utilizing the nursing process which guides the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Patient and significant data are collected and analyzed to ensure personalized care. Admissions databases and ongoing assessments are undertaken with collaboration between care providers, significant others, and patients. The plan of care is adjusted based on variances and individual patient needs, and it is updated as needed, and documentation is completed accordingly. The discharge plan is developed with homecare needs taken into consideration. Any changes in a patient's condition lead to the revision of the plan of care. Advanced competencies and critical thinking skills are employed in day-to-day practice to ensure the highest quality of care. Educational needs are identified and addressed to the patient and significant other as needed.
Respects the diverse range of needs, beliefs and preferences of patients and their families in order to prioritize their comfort and understanding.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of online resources that house relevant policies, procedures, standards, and other resources, and knows how to utilize these resources effectively.
Assists in guidance and supervision of team responsibilities. Contributes to building a positive, helpful, workplace environment. Holds everyone accountable for upholding company policies, procedures, and standards. Participates in learning needs assessments and supports training and mentorship programs. Offers input and support for precepting initiatives. Delegates appropriate tasks to support personnel, verifies that tasks have been completed, and offers constructive input when needed. Shows teamwork and companionship. Oversees the performance and patient care of specific individuals.

RN | Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

The following certifications are preferred and may be required within a certain timeframe of hire as defined by the specific nursing unit.
