Overview:
Managing the staff within the food services department is the Supervisor Food Service's main task to ensure the provision of high-quality food service. This position involves confirming that trays are correctly filled with ingredients and portions, overseeing staff compliance with regulatory standards, and participating in training sessions and progress tracking for employees. Effective implementation of proper food storage labeling, dating, and storage regulations is also within the responsibilities of this role. Moreover, the Supervisor Food Services plays a vital role in setting up cleaning schedules and ensuring adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading, monitoring, and instructing nutrition service personnel, encompassing the assessment of job performance and the enforcement of corrective measures if warranted.
Efficiently serves meals to all service locations by adhering to the opening and closing checklist, confirming the availability of all necessary documentation, ensuring appropriate staffing levels in each area, and ensuring the quality of food presentation.
Establishes and maintains adherence to regulatory agency standards, including those for infection control, health departments, and The Joint Commission, as well as department and hospital guidelines such as dress code policies. This promotes satisfactory outcomes in inspections and audits among employees.
Examines, reviews, and tracks the closure of daily cleaning schedules.
Conducts thorough inspections of walk-in coolers, freezers, and reach-ins to confirm appropriate labeling, dating, and storage practices are followed.
Delivers employee training and continuous development while upholding thorough documentation systems to enable effortless monitoring of status, progression, and involvement.
Executes any other responsibilities given.
