Job Description
The Radiologic Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures and diagnostic imaging examinations using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.
Essential Job Function:
- Conducts standard and specialized CT and diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols to minimize additional imaging and radiation dose, ensuring that exam productivity meets established benchmarks.
- - Complies with instructions provided by physicians on identifying the area of the patient's body for imaging purposes.
- Guiding the patient through the steps of the procedure and responding to their inquiries can reduce their stress levels and improve their grasp of the procedure.
- Aligns the patient appropriately and configures the imaging machinery to the designated settings to produce clear photographs of distinct body regions.
- Examines patient health backgrounds to ascertain suitable imaging settings for precise findings.
- Manages and upkeeps state-of-the-art CT devices, adhering to safety measures and scheduling regular maintenance examinations for dependable imaging outputs.
- Maintains accurate records of CT scans and their accompanying data within the Computerized Health Information (CHI) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), validating expenses and rectifying any inconsistencies to uphold seamless processes.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
Experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Will accept any of the licenses below: ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT)NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)Combination: ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT)ORCNMT and ARRT(CT)ORARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT)ORARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)
