Job Description

Overview:

In the healthcare setting, the RN Expeditor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing patient movement, recognizing and addressing obstacles to timely care, and actively monitoring for any concerning patterns that require further examination. By promoting efficient patient care delivery, this professional significantly contributes to enhancing the well-being of individuals undergoing treatment, facilitating their path to recovery. The role emphasizes the importance of maintaining awareness of the situation through effective communication strategies and leveraging available technology.

Responsibilities:

Utilizes knowledge of medical systems, resources, and patient needs to assist and support patients throughout their healthcare process, ensuring they can access the necessary services and resources.

Speeds up, places importance on, harmonizes, and intervenes instantly in clinical concerns, eliminates discharge impediments, and deals with care delays promptly; recognizes possible challenges to assist staff in managing patient-care responsibilities and discharges, averting potential obstructions proactively.

Engages in discussions with teams from various disciplines to pinpoint efficient methods for decreasing the time a patient spends in the facility, addressing intricate discharge situations, conditional release mandates, and other pertinent matters to secure a safe transition for patients.

Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 5 years Clinical Experience as a Registered Nurse with minimum of 3 years RN experience in the related field of Expediter role (Emergency, PCU/ICU, Procedural Area ) (Procedural i.e., PACU, Short Stay, Endoscopy)

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED

Required:

Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
