Job Description
As part of their job responsibilities, the Environmental Service Technician cleans and sanitizes various areas such as patient rooms, treatment rooms, washrooms, and shared spaces in accordance with the standards established by the hospital to fulfill the customer service requirements. This position operates closely monitored to ensure adherence to the environmental and infection prevention protocols outlined by external regulatory entities.
Essential Job Function
- The appropriate forms were utilized to register cleaning tasks accurately in the paperwork documents.
- Maintains open lines of communication with the supervisor to ensure they are up-to-date on tasks and can assist with resolving any difficult or urgent issues.
- Assists in monitoring supplies to meet the needs of various departments while adhering to budgetary objectives.
- Aids in preserving the cleanliness and operational integrity of equipment and storage areas to facilitate the efficient running of department operations.
- Maintaining a clean and presentable look for guests and patients involves promptly addressing and getting rid of any carpet stains as required without delay.
- Offers help in selecting and employing cleaning agents and machinery to prevent harm while effectively eliminating germs and reducing the potential for illnesses.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by following departmental cleaning guidelines, including routine and weekly cleaning schedules, discharge cleaning procedures, and organizing spaces such as medication rooms, IV storage rooms, and refrigerators.
- Does not touch/handle medications and is escorted in areas where narcotics are available.
- Prioritizes and adapts to changing needs accordingly.
- Undertakes any other assigned obligations.
Education:
- Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
