Job Description
Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in a hospital setting to provide high-quality patient care. Working under close supervision, this role develops and implements hospital-based care plans and prepares equipment for procedures across the organization's hospital systems.
Responsibilities:
Contributing to the care team entails collecting patient history and medical data to ensure comprehensive case documentation is included in hospital medical records.
Helps in devising and executing care blueprints as directed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to meet the demands of patients undergoing treatment in a hospital.
Validates the implementation of Cone Health policies on sterile environments through the application of correct techniques and safety protocols.
Providing clear and concise health care instructions to patients and their families is key to successful care plan management.
Contributes to managing emergencies and safety hazards by employing personal protective equipment and hospital safety measures to prevent patient harm.
Undertakes supplementary responsibilities as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
