Job Description
Overview:
To uphold regulatory and professional standards while making informed decisions, the individual must work closely with Radiology leadership, radiologists, and medical staff. The responsibility is to perform Molecular Imaging procedures according to approved workflows and procedural protocols, with a patient-centric approach and a focus on cost-effectiveness. A thorough understanding of Molecular Imaging equipment competency is mandatory, with competency achieved through the Radiology department. Radiopharmaceutical handling and administration follow established Radiology department processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to established procedures for conducting routine and specialized exams in order to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation exposure to as low as reasonably achievable.
- Consistently identifies all charges related to research and provides meticulous documentation. Effectively resolves any complications that may occur during the delivery of the final product to PACS.
- Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to upholding safety protocols and promoting a culture of fairness.
- Adheres to strict patient identification procedures and employs guidelines aimed at preventing lateralization errors, reducing the likelihood of patient falls, and minimizing radiation exposure.
- Meets all annual competency requirements by designated deadline
Education:
The candidate must have graduated from a recognized radiology, imaging, or a related educational program to be eligible for this position.
Experience:
Candidates with more than a year's experience in healthcare are preferred for the Molecular Imaging Technologist position.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
- RNs who are licensed in North Carolina or any Compact state are authorized to practice nursing in various health care settings.
- The American Heart Association's BLS Healthcare Provider course is designed for medical professionals who need to know how to perform CPR and other life-saving skills, and it includes advanced training on topics such as breathing and circulation management
