Job Description
In the role of a Nursing Technician, individuals work closely with Registered Nurses to observe and document patient needs. Responsibilities include supporting patients in their daily tasks and helping them with increasing their mobility, all while under supervision. *Experience in the ED department is preferred for applicants to our MedCenters
Essential Job Function:
- Aids patients with activities necessary for daily living, such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and increasing mobility, to facilitate their recovery process and care program.
- Assessment of patients' quality of life in relation to nutrition, hydration, and elimination is conducted to manage resources effectively and anticipate patient needs.
- Executes the movement of patients to designated areas based on the care plan requirements.
- Supports in medical procedures by overseeing blood glucose levels, logging vital statistics, performing electrocardiograms, using restraints, and addressing elimination requirements to ensure patients are well-cared for and at ease during their treatment.
- Maintaining the unit's inventory of supplies and medical equipment plays a crucial role in promoting cleanliness and safety according to the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Confirms that patients with a high risk of falling possess the suitable wristbands, socks, and indicators to protect their physical health.
- Supports in logging all healthcare interventions, patient dealings, and medication administration to sustain a comprehensive patient dossier.
- Displays prompt reactions to delegated responsibilities by nursing professionals and communicates relevant patient data for seamless teamwork.
- Undertakes other assignments as instructed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
