Overview:
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician is tasked with observing and documenting patient conditions. This position includes assisting patients with daily tasks and encouraging mobility as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Aids patients in their daily living responsibilities, such as eating, personal grooming, and improving mobility to assist in their recovery and care program.
- Evaluates the impact of nutrition, hydration, and excretion on the general welfare of patients to effectively plan for and meet their specific needs.
- Manages the intake, relocation, and release of patients to align them with the planned care destinations.
- Aids in clinical processes by overseeing glucose levels, noting essential physiological markers, performing cardiac monitoring procedures, restraining when necessary, and assisting with personal hygiene to deliver quality patient care.
- Assists in monitoring unit stock of supplies and medical tools to promote a hygienic and secure setting following the guidelines of the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Verifies that patients prone to falling are equipped with suitable arm bands, socks, and signage to promote their physical well-being.
- Aids in the maintenance of an in-depth patient history by documenting all clinical procedures, interactions with patients, and the administration of medication.
- Responds swiftly to tasks assigned by registered nurses and communicates patient insights to enhance teamwork.
- Handles any additional responsibilities delegated.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
