Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician III (Certified Retail Specialty) performs specialized tasks to support pharmacists in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Operating under limited supervision, this role manages workflow, inventory, billing, and other advanced pharmacy operations.
Essential Job Function
- Processes and transcribes orders, responds to phone inquiries, and dispenses prescriptions to support efficient pharmacy workflow.
- Works directly with pharmacy purchasing agent to maintain inventory.
- Acts as a resource and point of guidance for other pharmacy technicians.
- Mentors and trains new employees to build knowledge of the job area.
- Directs and executes process improvement and quality enhancement initiatives within the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 5 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
