Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Transit Support Specialist is to securely transfer patients in wheelchairs, stretchers, or hospital beds with efficiency and caution. This role operates under direct oversight, ensuring that requests are met promptly and patients are treated with compassion and consideration.
Essential Job Function:
- Safely transfers patients around the hospital, confirming their identity details to ensure correct transportation.
- Follows safety policies and regulations systematically to ensure the safe conveyance of patients.
- Implements the proper Hand-Off protocol (like a Hall Pass, Ticket-to Ride, or similar tool) to accurately document patient condition, location, and status.
- Demonstrates a professional behavior and offers customer support to aid staff, patients, and their families by addressing relevant queries concerning transportation.
- Examines and maintains equipment to detect issues that could indicate the need for equipment repair or replacement.
- Executes any other responsibilities delegated.
