Overview:
Pharmaceutics will be within the easy reach of employees on all campuses.
Responsibilities:
- Manages invasive/non-invasive ventilators
- Implements regularly used therapy modalities
- Processes blood gases
- Implements advanced forms of therapy interventions
- Completes required documentation
- Ensures that all equipment pertaining to the department is in good working condition, and performs routine maintenance checks to prevent any breakdowns
- Exhibits Department Engagement
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
- Associates, Respiratory Therapy, Required
- Graduation from a 2-year school for Respiratory Therapy.
- Educational requirements must be confirmed for all Respiratory Care Practitioners.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in an acute care setting or completed acute care clinical rotations required.
- Moses Cone, Wesley Long, High Point MedCenter, Women's & Children's Center and
Annie Penn Employees:
- Experience in managing critical care patients preferred.
- Alamance Regional Medical Employees:
- Special care nursery experience preferred.
- 6 months of critical care experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
National Credentials (All Employees):
- As of July 1, 2017, all new employees hired must be credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a RRT.
- Credentials awarded by the NBRC on or after July 1, 2002 are valid for a period of five years and are subject to the continuing competency program requirements.
- NC State Licensure (All Employees)
- Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as a RRT.
Regulatory - BLS (CPR) - Required upon hire and ongoing for all Respiratory Therapy Practitioners.
- ACLS - Required upon hire and ongoing for all Respiratory Therapy Practitioners.
- PALS - Required upon hire and ongoing for all Respiratory Therapy Practitioners except for those at the Women?s and Children?s Center.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required within 6 months for therapists working at the Women?s and Children?s Center and Alamance Regional Medical Center.
- NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist) - Required credential from the NBRC within one year of hire or date of transfer to the Women?s and Children?s Center.
- Valid Driver's License
