Job Description
Being a Clinical Endoscopy Technician involves aiding physicians and nurses in conducting endoscopic assessments on patients, involving responsibilities such as arranging the tools, supplies, and equipment utilized in these procedures for optimal care provision. This role operates under strict supervision to ensure the appropriate preparation of instruments, materials, and devices necessary for successful endoscopic examinations. By working closely with the medical team, the technician assists in ensuring the smooth execution of endoscopic tests for patients' benefit.
Essential Job Function:
- Advocates for the proper care and cleaning of autoclaves to maintain a sterile environment within the working area.
- Gets the operating room ready by arranging the equipment and double-checking that everything is working correctly, ensuring that all essential tools are set up and ready for the procedure.
- Ensures compliance with Infection Control policies while sterilizing the endoscopes to create a clean environment for the patient.
- Supports in the care of automated scope reprocessing filters and communicates any concerns to the clinic office coordinator to maintain operational equipment.
- Procures bodily fluid samples from patients to support medical studies.
- Executes any further obligations as instructed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 1 year
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
