Job Description
Faculty members play a crucial role in promoting high-quality patient care, effective teaching, and valuable research within a team environment.
Essential Job Function:
- Educational conferences are provided for residents, faculty, students, and teams, which encompass a range of activities like Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Noon Conferences, Medical Student Lectures, Clinical Improvement Conferences, Board Review sessions, and any other designated sessions.
- Mentoring medical students, APP students, and residents to support their professional development.
- Provide guidance and support to students and residents during their clinical rotations.
- Administer patient care to assigned individuals across diverse clinical departments.
- It is essential for faculty members to motivate and assist residents in engaging in scholarly endeavors, which may involve submitting abstracts, presenting posters, giving oral talks, and publishing case reports.
- The faculty is responsible for cultivating and upholding a setting that encourages questioning and scholarly pursuits, which includes a dynamic research aspect.
- Participation in endorsed research endeavors, including collaboration, might be part of the process.
- Engage in necessary or designated committee responsibilities like THN, CHMG, Graduate Medical Education, Medical Staff, among other assigned committees.
- Working with top management to design fresh rotation or educational programs for students and residents.
- Participating in institutional citizenship within a team setting aims to boost accessibility, cut down on costs, upgrade quality, and drive efficiency, leading to better health outcomes.
- Being involved in community outreach and attending professional functions can help in supporting program development and establishing valuable professional networks.
- It is essential for all faculty members to focus on maintaining up-to-date and comprehensive documentation, as well as ensuring the satisfaction of both patients and referring physicians.
- Participate in AHEC assignments as required that support the mission of the NC AHEC Program.

Experience:
- Required:
- Preferred: Experience in teaching or perception medical residents or medical students.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Active NC Medical License Board certification in specialty BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Valid Driver's License | If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
