Job Description
The LPN specializing in Clinical Practice contributes to the coordination of patient needs and provides nursing assistance within a clinical facility. This position involves supporting in the documentation of patient information, executing recommendations, and managing administrative responsibilities to facilitate the provision of quality patient care. Utilizing their nursing knowledge, the LPN ensures the efficiency of patient care delivery and promotes positive patient outcomes. The Specialty Care services are exclusively office-based and cover various areas including Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and Endocrinology, alongside Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN only, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, APPs in Community Care Clinic, Wound Care, and Patient Care Clinic settings.
Essential Job Function:
- Aids healthcare professionals by assisting in patient prep for examinations, collecting vital statistics, recording medical pasts, and updating patient documentation.
- Engages with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support communication and streamline care coordination for enhanced patient outcomes.
- Reviews and manages healthcare practitioners' proposals, including drug prescriptions, patient referrals, and tests, to verify correctness and timely implementation.
- Supports in executing specified medical interventions and treatments to ensure meticulous compliance with protocols and safeguard patient health.
- Administers medications and treatments, follows established protocols and guidelines to ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.
- Preserves patient confidentiality through the consistent communication of health information and records in compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and internal guidelines.
- Aid in managing crises and health risks by applying personal protective gear and medical safety protocols to prevent harm to patients.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Diploma in Practical Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Licensed Practical Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Licensed Practical Nurse LPN licensed in North Carolina or Compact State, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
