Job Description
The MRI Technologist is tasked with executing MRI scans, which employ magnetic fields and radio frequencies to produce images depicting the inner workings of the human body. These scans are utilized to explore and diagnose conditions affecting soft tissue, such as tumors and brain-related illnesses. The main responsibility associated with this role is to ensure the accurate acquisition of images and collaborate with the medical team to furnish comprehensive diagnostic insights for patient care.
Essential Job Function
- Undertakes advanced responsibilities concerning the utilization of high magnetic field strength apparatus and related tools in order to create specialized radiographic visuals of particular body structures.
- Reviews and appraises patient medical records to select the most suitable imaging parameters for precise diagnostic results.
- Supervises the operation and upkeep of state-of-the-art MRI devices, complying with safety procedures and executing periodic inspections to confirm precise and trustworthy imaging outputs.
- Assists healthcare professionals in MRI exams by delivering live imaging aid to ensure correct placement and enhance image clarity.
- Logs and organizes MRI scans and relevant details into Computerized Health Information (CHL) as well as Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), confirming billing accuracy and resolving any irregularities to promote seamless processes.
- Executes additional responsibilities as directed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
Experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: ARRT (MR), MRI Technologist ARMRIT(MR), ARMRIT(MR)ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT(MR) acceptable; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross, or AHA Healthcare Provider
