Job Description
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed. **This role does require an experienced ED Nurse Tech.
Essential Job Function:
- Offering assistance to patients in daily living activities including eating, grooming, and enhancing mobility to help in their recovery and care plan.
- Assesses how patients' quality of life is affected by their nutritional intake, fluid levels, and waste elimination to anticipate and address their requirements.
- The handling involves acknowledging, shifting, and releasing patients to position them correctly according to the care layout.
- Aids patients in addressing elimination concerns through the provision of services like ostomy care, enema administration, and condom catheter application for enhanced comfort.
- Plays a role in managing unit inventories for supplies and equipment to maintain a clean and secure space in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Checks that patients with a high risk of falling have been provided with the necessary armbands, socks, and notices to promote physical safety.
- Completes other assignments as given.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
