Overview
The Paramedic role reviews emergency medical systems and provides support in emergency medical situations. Working under general supervision for routine situations, this position manages critical patient care and emergency response, and ensures timeliness of reports and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Audits emergency medical systems and procedures to ascertain their appropriate functioning and adherence to recognized protocols.
- Maintains precise and timely records of emergency medical services to ensure the accuracy of reports and documentation.
- Handles employee inquiries and troubleshoots issues that require interpreting policies to provide guidance and resolutions.
- Coaches mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and abilities.
- Holds expertise in emergency medical techniques, treatments, and advancements to deliver quality care to patients.
- Undertakes additional duties as delegated.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- ED/Occ Health: Required: 1 year of Paramedic experienceCarelink:
- Required: 3 years of EMS paramedic experience
- Carelink Transport positions, must have 3 years of EMS paramedic or critical care transport paramedic experience.
- Carelink relief paramedics must have 5 years of EMS paramedic experience & 1 year of critical care transport experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
- Current valid NC Paramedic certification
- BLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
- ACLS - American Red Cross or Healthcare Provider
- Valid Driver's License If driving a CH vehicle must have minimum 5 years as a valid licensed driver with MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
- Carelink: Emergency Vehicle Operator's course completed within 1 year of hire
