Job Description
Overview:
The Physical Therapist II conducts assessments of patients, devises personalized treatment plans, and executes therapeutic measures to improve their functional performance. They possess the ability to manage patients competently in their clinical practice environment and carry out physical therapy duties independently and proficiently. This role involves initiating communication within the inter-disciplinary team, treating familiar patients with confidence, and supporting both patients and the team. Autonomy in practice is essential in the primary setting, with potential occasional support needed for complex or cross-coverage cases.
Responsibilities:
- Offers evaluation and treatment for various diagnoses and intricate patient situations.
- Examines patients meticulously, considering their physical capacities, medical histories, and functional constraints to develop personalized intervention strategies.
- Assists patients in engaging in therapeutic exercises and physical therapy interventions to enhance their muscle strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Informs patients and their families about treatment plans, home exercise programs, and self-help techniques to aid in achieving better recovery outcomes.
- Engages in cooperative efforts to develop and execute discharge plans and recommendations for ongoing care.
- Documents patients' progression, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions to allow for modifications to treatment plans as necessary.
- Partners with interdisciplinary teams across departments to ensure integrated patient care and holistic treatment effectiveness.
- Undertakes other responsibilities as allotted.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
