Job Description
The main task of a Registered Nurse (RN) is to offer quality patient care and ensure positive patient outcomes by applying nursing knowledge with compassion and efficiency. This role functions under general guidance and fosters professional nursing practices by facilitating patient care through the nursing process and interdisciplinary cooperation.
Essential Job Function:
- Analyzes patient requirements and health issues in the designated unit to ensure the provision of nursing care that is attentive and suitable for each individual.
- Analyzes patient records, including medical backgrounds, test results, and current health statuses, to develop unique nursing care plans.
- Undertakes nursing procedures involving medication administration and therapies to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Verifies that medical records are accurate and in line with both regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Assessing the patient's reaction to treatments and identifying any further interventions necessary to achieve defined care goals.
- Teams up with a variety of disciplines to facilitate the planning of effective care.
- Undertakes miscellaneous duties as instructed.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
