Job Description
The Specials Recovery RN manages care for patients of all ages under moderate supervision, ensuring their needs are met. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality care before, during, and after procedures for specialized patients.
Essential Job Function
- Monitors patients in the special recovery room and assesses their condition to ensure that patients are recovering safely and to identify any potential complications or issues that may arise.
- Gets medications and treatments ready as prescribed so patients receive the correct care.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient outcomes and to ensure patients receive coordinated and comprehensive care from all members of the healthcare team.
- Records patient care to keep medical records accurate and up to date.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stocked to ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working condition in the special recovery room.
- Asks senior management for guidance on difficult recovery treatment plans and other complex situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Associates Degree
Experience
- Required: 3 years as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizationsCardiac Specialty Experience and 2 years of telemetry, ED, PCU, or ICU experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderACLS required within 6 months of hire
