Job Description
The Specials Recovery Registered Nurse coordinates the care of patients of all ages. Working under moderate supervision, this role identifies patient needs and delivers high-quality care in line with the patient's care plan. This role focuses on the pre, intra, and post care and recovery of specialized patients in the center.
Essential Job Function:
- Monitors patients within the dedicated recovery space and assesses their status to confirm a safe recovery and to pinpoint any potential complications or problems that could manifest.
- Executes medication and treatment regimens as prescribed by doctors to maintain the proper administration of healthcare interventions.
- Partners with other healthcare experts to achieve favorable patient outcomes and to guarantee that patients are provided with cohesive and inclusive care from all healthcare team members.
- Verifies the accuracy and completeness of medical records through the documentation of patient care activities.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies in the special recovery room are consistently serviced and adequately supplied to support seamless operations.
- Consults with senior management for advice on difficult special recovery treatment plans and other issues that demand a deeper insight.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree
Experience:
- Required: 3 years as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations. Cardiac Specialty Experience and 2 years of telemetry, ED, PCU, or ICU experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
