Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Computed Tomography Technologist Weekend Option is to ensure quality care for patients undergoing CT scans by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Under supervision, this role utilizes advanced x-ray equipment to capture detailed anatomical images that help in the diagnosis of a range of illnesses and medical issues. The inclusion of a weekend option entails that the staff member must meet the WEO criteria and fulfill two shifts within the specified weekend timeframe in exchange for additional pay.
Essential Job Function
- Operates X-ray scanners for the head or body to produce computer-generated cross-sectional images, also referred to as CAT Scans.
- Administers standard and specialized CT examinations in accordance with established protocols to reduce the need for additional imaging and control radiation dosage, ensuring examination efficiency meets predetermined benchmarks.
- Successfully finishes all examinations and records within the Computerized Health Information (CHI) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), precisely recognizing the fees linked with procedures and rectifying any mistakes to ensure an uninterrupted process.
- The process involves teaching and prepping patients for their tests to boost understanding and engagement, ensuring a smooth and pleasant examination experience.
- Shows a strong commitment to prioritizing safe practices, fostering a fair culture, and adhering to the ALARA principles to minimize errors and improve patient care.
- Executes supplemental responsibilities as tasked.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
