Overview:
The Nursing Technician I supports the Registered Nurse by monitoring and recording patient statuses. With supervision, this position helps with patient care by facilitating gradual movement and aiding with daily activities when necessary.
Responsibilities:
Assisting individuals with daily activities such as meals, personal hygiene, and improving movement to aid in the rehabilitation process and care strategy.
Evaluates the well-being of individuals concerning their nutrition, hydration, and waste management to allocate provisions appropriately and prepare for patient requirements.
Admissions, transfers, and releases individuals to ensure they are relocated to suitable settings based on the care plan.
Assists in medical processes by overseeing blood sugar levels, documenting essential indicators, conducting electrocardiograms, implementing restrictions, and addressing excretory requirements to ensure patients receive proper care.
Assists in managing the stock of supplies and medical tools within the unit to uphold a hygienic and secure setting as required by the National Patient Safety Goals.
Verifying that patients at risk of falling are equipped with the correct arm bands, socks, and signs to promote their physical safety.
Assists in recording every clinical process, patient engagements, and drug administration for the purpose of upholding a comprehensive patient record.
Efficient collaboration is ensured through timely responses to instructions from the nursing team and the open sharing of patient observations.
Carries out additional tasks as necessary or designated.

Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
