Overview:
Assisting the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician is tasked with observing and recording patient health indicators. Operating under supervision, this role supports patients in progressing their mobility and aiding them in daily tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
Supports patients with their daily tasks, like meal preparation, personal care, and enhancing mobility to assist in their recovery and care plan.
Reviews the well-being of patients regarding their nutritional intake, hydration levels, and waste elimination to manage resources effectively and anticipate patient needs.
Conducts the admission, transfer, and discharge functions to transfer patients to suitable locations as outlined in the care plan.
Assists in clinical procedures, such as monitoring blood sugar levels, documenting vital signs, conducting EKG tests, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs to ensure patients' comfort and well-being.
Helps in organizing unit supplies and medical equipment inventories to ensure a hygienic and secure environment in alignment with the National Patient Safety Goals.
Verifies that patients with a high risk of falling are equipped with the necessary arm bands, socks, and safety signage to promote physical security.
Helps in chronicling each medical protocol, patient communications, and pharmaceutical utilization for the purpose of sustaining a thorough patient history.
Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and shares patient observations to ensure efficient collaboration.
Executes additional tasks as required by the supervisor.
