Overview:
The Physical Therapist Assistant II works closely with a physical therapist to assist in rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring optimal functional abilities and mobility, alleviating pain, enhancing strength, and preventing deformity in patients with illnesses or injuries, while also providing education for patients and their families. This role implements predetermined treatment plans by employing proven modalities and expert interventions to enhance patients' capacity to reach agreed-upon functional objectives. The role involves overseeing advancements in line with the care plan devised by the physical therapist. Ultimately, the responsibility of the Physical Therapy Assistant II is to maximize patients' functional capabilities and support their progression towards self-sufficiency in their everyday routines.
Responsibilities:
Carry out patient treatments, assessments, and record-keeping duties.
Carrying out approved treatment strategies by choosing and executing suitable therapeutic actions with the aim of reaching patient objectives.
Advances patient through specified treatment regimen to reach objectives.
Provides patients with therapeutic exercises and physical therapy treatments aimed at enhancing strength, flexibility, and motion range.
Instructs patients and their families on how to enhance their recuperation results through treatment plans, at-home activities, and self-care methods.
Assists the physical therapist in executing discharge plans and suggestions for ongoing care.
Observes and records the advancements of patients, the results of treatments, and reactions to actions to enable modifications to be made to treatment strategies.
Works together in cross-functional teams from various departments to guarantee cohesive patient care and comprehensive treatment results.
Completes tasks as delegated.
