Overview:
The Utility Associate is tasked with upholding the hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining spaces through appropriate operation of the dish machine, correct storage of utensils and equipment, and upkeep of a tidy work area to adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines. Additionally, this position plays a part in ensuring that the workplace abides by safety protocols, identifying and reporting any safety risks, addressing spills, and incorporating energy-saving practices when suitable. Moreover, this role assists in delivering food services directly to patients when required.
Responsibilities:
Operates the dishwashing machine to clean used dishes, glasses, cups, trays, utensils, and food service tools.
Maintains cleanliness in the dishwashing area while also monitoring temperature and detergent levels to ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of the machine.
Removes and relocates trash to the designated dumpster location while maintaining a tidy and debris-free environment around the rear loading dock and dumpster area to ensure accessibility for vehicles.
Adheres to approved protocols for storing dry and fresh goods, materials, and tools related to the dining division to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Recognizes and applies suitable cleaning products, solutions, and tools tailored to particular tasks to safeguard surfaces from harm and ensure the well-being of both employees and occupants.
Carries out equipment operations and upkeep following the guidelines set by the department or manufacturer to prevent any harm or undue deterioration.
Executes additional tasks as required.
