Overview:
As a key member of the healthcare system, the Mobile Integrated Health Community Paramedic (MIH/CP) contributes significantly to the evolvement of healthcare services by delivering appropriate and timely medical attention in suitable locations. The MIH/CP, a proficient medical practitioner, is entrusted with the responsibility of conducting medical assessments, treatments, and stabilization procedures under the close supervision of medical experts. Both planned and emergency medical visits are attended to by the MIH/CP as needed by the Hospital at Home group, under the oversight and instructions of the Hospital at Home provider. With the capacity to independently execute various medical procedures like setting up intravenous lines, drawing blood samples, and administering drugs under supervision, the MIH/CP ensures the continuity of patient care through effective communication with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
Executes protocols and therapies as defined by regulations, policies, and the current situation of the patient within the framework of the Hospital at Home program.
The assessment and distribution of medications are conducted in accordance with the prescription.
Prepare the Remote Patient Monitoring equipment as necessary.
Shows careful stewardship of HaH assets while skillfully handling time management.
Ensures the confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information.
Shows expertise in utilizing departmental and organizational information systems, supplies, and resources pertinent to patient care.
Assumes the duty of furthering education to ensure a current understanding of the field, actively seeking and upholding knowledge about different diseases and medications associated with the patient population receiving Hospital at Home services.
Being able to think critically and modify patient workload based on their severity and the demands of the area is crucial.
Maintains consistent communication and displays professional demeanor in verbal and written exchanges with patients, families, and team members. Carries out additional job tasks as directed in line with the demands of the Hospital at Home unit.

Required:
Active North Carolina State Paramedic certification
Must obtain CPC (certified community paramedic) certification within 18 months of hire
BLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
ACLS - American Red Cross or Healthcare Provider
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
