Job Description
An Interventional Radiologic Technologist CL specializes in supporting healthcare professionals during minimally invasive interventions that involve guiding instruments through a patient's vessels and organs using imaging techniques. Operating under direct oversight, this role performs a range of procedures such as angioplasties, biopsies, image-guided thermal ablation procedures, and stenting. Essential duties include preparing sterile equipment trays, ensuring correct patient positioning for interventional radiology procedures, assisting with fluoroscopy equipment operation, and aiding in image capture.
Essential Job Function:
- Carries out less intrusive examinations in accordance with set protocols to lessen the requirement for extra imaging and reduce radiation exposure to a level that is as low as possible.
- Engages in the operation and care of specific interventional radiology apparatus, abiding by safety protocols and executing scheduled maintenance evaluations to uphold accurate and dependable imaging in interventions.
- Aids radiologists and medical personnel during interventional operations by supplying immediate imaging guidance to assist in the correct insertion of devices and therapeutic treatments.
- Ensures that all examinations and paperwork are finalized in the Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), precisely recognizing all costs related to assessments and correcting any inaccuracies for an efficient workflow.
- Helps with moving patients as required to facilitate the seamless delivery of patient services and assistance throughout medical processes.

Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.
Experience:
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: ARRT (R) Radiologic Technologist Dx and/or RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare.
