Job Description
The Nursing Technician role involves observing and noting patient conditions to assist the Registered Nurse effectively. Working closely with patients, this position includes helping them with daily tasks and aiding in enhancing their mobility. *Experience in the ED is a plus for candidates interested in joining our MedCenter team
Essential Job Function:
- Offers assistance to individuals with daily living tasks like meal support, personal grooming, and gradual mobility enhancement to facilitate their recovery and care strategy.
- Patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination is evaluated to distribute resources adequately and anticipate patient needs.
- Coordinates the transfer, admission, and release of patients to appropriate settings in alignment with the care plan.
- Supports in clinical tasks, including monitoring blood sugar, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and assisting with elimination needs to ensure patients are well looked after and comfortable during their care.
- Contributing to the management of unit inventories for supplies and medical equipment is necessary to ensure a hygienic and safe environment in line with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Confirms that patients regarded as fall risks are outfitted with the necessary arm bands, socks, and notifications to ensure their physical safety.
- Supports the recording of every clinical procedure, patient interaction, and drug use to safeguard a comprehensive patient archive.
- Exhibits quick responsiveness to tasks delegated by registered nurses and shares valuable patient insights to foster efficient collaboration.
- Conducts other tasks as assigned by authorities.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: None
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
