Overview:
The role of Nursing Technician I is to help the Registered Nurse in taking care of patients by monitoring and recording their health conditions. This position works in close proximity to patients, helping in their continuous mobility and providing assistance with daily activities when necessary.
Responsibilities:
Patients are aided in their daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and movement improvement, in order to assist in their recuperation and care management.
The evaluation of patients' standard of living with respect to nourishment, hydration, and excretion is conducted to allocate resources and anticipate the demands of patients.
Carries out the process of admitting, transferring, and releasing patients from medical care in accordance with the established plan.
Provides patient comfort by assisting with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood sugar levels, recording vital signs, conducting EKG tests, administering restraints, and attending to bodily elimination.
Assists in the upkeep of inventory levels for supplies and medical equipment to guarantee a hygienic and secure setting that adheres to the National Patient Safety goals.
Verifying that patients prone to falls wear the necessary identification bands and socks, and appropriate signages display around their room to minimize injury risk.
Keeps comprehensive records of medical treatments, patient interactions, and drug administration to maintain a detailed patient history.
Shows quick response to assignment given by the nursing staff and shares patient observations promptly to facilitate efficient teamwork.
Completes additional tasks as deemed necessary or allocated.

Required:
Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
