Job Description
The Radiology Technologist Extender aids the radiologic technologist by offering help and support in tending to patients and their families while undergoing imaging procedures. Operating under close supervision, this role helps the Radiologic Technologist by conducting rudimentary patient evaluations by confirming patient orders, filling out patient forms, assisting in patient readiness, and providing guidance.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports tech experts by facilitating the basic enrollment of Computerized Health Information (CHL) and the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), guaranteeing precise and prompt completion of documentation.
- Oversees and guides the handling of incoming telephone inquiries to uphold streamlined communication and orderliness in the division.
- Helps create phone alerts for upcoming examinations to improve patient readiness and streamline department operations.
- Improves operational effectiveness by maintaining cleanliness and restocking procedure rooms to establish a properly equipped setting for effective patient treatment.
- Greets and aids individuals entering the radiology department, including patients, their loved ones, and guests.
- Carries out additional tasks as required.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
