Job Description
In the capacity of RN Cardiac Cath/PV Lab II, the individual undertakes specific nursing tasks in the cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular lab spheres. Working collaboratively with the healthcare team, this position focuses on delivering high-level patient care throughout procedures, aiming for accuracy and compliance with established guidelines to promote optimal patient wellbeing.
Essential Job Function:
- Analyzes the comprehensive medical records and present health status of challenging patients before their cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedures.
- Uses specialized machinery and supervises patients while they undergo treatments, aiming for safety and favorable effects.
- Dispenses medications and ensures precise documentation of patients' reactions and procedural particulars.
- Coordinates with the healthcare team, including physicians and technicians, to support the seamless execution of procedures.
- Supplies patient education and guidance before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and procedures in the peripheral vascular lab.
- Conforms to the prerequisites of the professional advancement initiative, actively seeks knowledge through continuous education, and supports colleagues in their growth to foster professional development and remain current with the latest innovations in the field, thereby enhancing patient care and expertise in clinical areas.
- Carries out supplementary responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: Cardiac Specialty Experience, 2 Years Telemetry experience.1-2 years of Emergency Department or Critical Care RN experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state RCIS obtained within 24 months of hire. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS obtain within 6 months of hire.
