Job Description
In various clinical settings, the Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) offers exceptional care and support while working independently. This role is dedicated to providing high-quality specialty patient care and supporting the strategic goals of healthcare initiatives designed for that particular service line. Specialty Care is limited to office-based setups and includes specialties like Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN services, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, Advanced Practice Providers in a Community Care Clinic, Wound Care, and Patient Care Clinic environments.
Essential Job Function:
- Evaluates patient needs and health conditions within assigned clinical settings to deliver nursing care effectively, aiming to ensure every patient receives personalized and adequate attention.
- Examines patient details, encompassing medical history, test results, and present health status, to establish customized nursing care blueprints.
- Administers medications, manages vascular devices, and administers treatments as part of nursing protocols for delivering comprehensive patient care.
- Follows established protocols and guidelines for the safe administration of medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with safety measures for handling both hazardous and non-hazardous medications to protect the well-being of patients and healthcare workers.
- Confirms the consistency of medical records to ensure compliance with regulations and internal protocols.
- Analyzes the patient's reaction to treatments and recognizes the need for supplemental interventions to accomplish defined care goals.
- Participates in interdisciplinary cooperation to optimize care planning effectiveness.
- Serves as a well-informed reference and coach, furnishing guidance, instruction, and backing to teammates and personnel to cultivate an environment of constant learning.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as directed.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
- Preferred: Certification in Specialty eligible within 1 year of hire.
