Overview:
The Sleep Technologist Lead is responsible for aiding in diagnosing and addressing sleep-related issues among patients. Operating with minimal oversight, this position conducts sleep assessments and evaluations to enhance patient's overall sleep health and quality while carrying out tests and procedures following the standards set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
Responsibilities:
Organizes and arranges sleep study apparatus and monitoring tools for individuals participating in sleep investigations.
Performs thorough evaluations of patients, which involve conducting interviews to collect their medical backgrounds and details about their sleep patterns.
Observes the physiological information of individuals while they are asleep, including brain activity, cardiac rhythms, breathing behaviors, and oxygen saturation levels.
Patients are informed about the process of undergoing a sleep study, as well as the significance of adhering to treatment advice.
Works together with sleep specialists and other healthcare providers to analyze findings from sleep studies and offer suggestions for treatment.
Engages in administering and adjusting various treatments like Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy, including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Bilevel, Adaptive Servo Ventilation (ASV), and Inspire Fine Tuning. Conducts evaluations on children undergoing tests, both with and without capnography.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist as a RPSGT; Registered by the North Carolina Medical Board as a BRPT; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
