Overview:
The Supervisor Clinical Acute Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the effective delivery of patient care within the unit/department and for supervising the team. Among their duties are the identification and fulfillment of program objectives and outcomes, along with the upkeep of regulatory and professional standards. They are instrumental in sustaining a service that is cost-conscious, forward-thinking, and attentive to customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Applies the nursing process to facilitate the development, execution, and evaluation of nursing strategies.
Engages in the process of developing, reviewing, and formalizing a care plan with the patient, their loved ones, and the medical team, which encompasses discharge planning.
Carries out interventions consistently, with a focus on preserving patient dignity, privacy, and safety, and plays a role in educating staff on nursing procedures, documentation, and clinical pathway utilization.
Provides support for completing performance reviews and plays a role in developing the departmental schedule and managing staffing operations on a daily basis.
Assists in the creation of the annual budget, monitors departmental spending, and enforces measures to control costs effectively.
Establishes and implements processes for the QI/PI program in the department while supporting staff education and involvement in quality improvement activities.
Notices possibilities for enhancing quality, actively contributes to the development and execution of these improvement strategies.
Supports the development and retention of harmonious relationships, including facilitating interactions among employees.
Assists in the coordination and surveillance of ongoing tasks to meet legal guidelines.
Undertakes supplementary duties as designated.
