Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in a hospital setting to provide high-quality patient care. Working under close supervision, this role develops and implements hospital-based care plans and prepares equipment for procedures across the organization's hospital systems.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports the healthcare staff in collecting patient history and medical details to enhance the accuracy of case documentation in hospital records.
- Helps in formulating and applying care plans under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to address the requirements of patients receiving treatment at the hospital.
- Guarantees that sterile environments adhere to Cone Health policies by following appropriate procedures and safety measures.
- Provides patients and families with clear and easily accessible healthcare information to assist in the management of the care plan.
- Plays a crucial role in responding to emergencies and safety hazards by employing personal protective equipment and healthcare protocols to prevent patient injuries.
- Carries out supplementary tasks as instructed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
Experience:
- Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
