Job Description
In a hospital setting, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital works closely alongside Registered Nurses or healthcare practitioners to deliver exceptional patient care, all while operating under strict supervision. Responsibilities include the development and execution of care plans specific to the hospital, as well as ensuring that equipment is properly prepared for procedures throughout the hospital systems.
Essential Job Function:
- Aids the care team in compiling patient histories and medical data to enhance the completeness of case documentation in hospital records.
- Aids in the development and application of care strategies as instructed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider for the purpose of fulfilling the needs of hospitalized patients.
- Ensures compliance with Cone Health guidelines on sterile environments through the use of appropriate techniques and safety measures.
- Imparts health care directives to patients and their families, aiming for a comprehensive understanding of the care plan.
- Assists in managing unforeseen events and potential dangers by using protective gear and healthcare facility guidelines to prevent harm to patients.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
Experience:
- Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
